I have an 8-dent reed. It is not stainless steel but in ok shape. It is 45″ long but 6″ high. It doesn’t fit any loom I have. Anyone interested? I can bring it to the meeting next week.
“New Textiles” show at Mobilia, Cambridge
A group invitational, The New Textiles: Transformed will include works showcasing a variety of unique techniques and unlikely materials that mirror the look of textiles and explore the definition of what a textile truly is. This exhibition will transform the possibilities of textile art through textural forms and media. Textiles can spring from unlikely sources including paper, glass, metal, silicone and plastics. The New Textiles celebrates the bold sculptural forms of baskets, the graphic imagery of tapestries and all surfaces that are embellished both narrative and abstract.
Sawyer Brook Fabrics
Just to let the sewists in the group know (Reba, here is the latest). Sawyer Brook has a new owner and is looking forward to the fall collection of fabrics. Here’s the link.

Fiber demos this weekend
I’m participating in 2 different events this weekend that might be of interest.
Historic Trades Day at Hartwell Tavern (part of Minuteman National Historic Park) in Lexington – I’ll be spinning in my great wheel.
Colonial Craft Day at the Old Chelmsford Garrison House – I’ll be weaving on an old barn frame loom that I rescued and revived.
Both events are free and open to the public.
Fruitlands demos on 10/11
So far four of us have expressed interest in helping to demo at Fruitlands on 10/11: Judith, Penny, Leslie, and me. The demo is 12-4pm. We will have the guild loom with some of Reba’s softball cotton for lap blankets. Judith offered to bring her RH to demo; I think Leslie has one too that she used in Sept. I don’t want to treadle yet because of a sore foot, but I can bring my inkle loom. So my questions are:
Are you all still willing to help? Does anyone else want to join in?
Do you want to be there all four hours, or just part?
Laura, will you take the loom back after the demo?

12 dent reed
Hi. I’m looking for a 36-40inch 12-dent reed. Does anyone have an extra? Free would be best, but I can pay something.
As always,
Arlette
