Farm Fiber Day at the Wayland Winter Farmers’ Market
The Wayland Winter Farmers’ Market is off to a lively start and we are excited as the first of our (two) annual Farm Fiber Days is this Saturday, January 24th from 10 AM to 2 PM. (The second date is Feb. 21) There will be over 40 food vendors attending alongside 20 fiber vendors. Join us for breakfast and lunch in the lush greenhouse at Russell’s Garden Center.
Attending will be a talented group of local farmers who produce yarn, top, roving and finished fiber products from their own animals. Additional vendors include dyers of locally sourced fiber. Visit angora bunnies from Evergreen Farm and watch spinning (drop spindle and wheel) with Jonathan and Sheila Bosworth of Journey Wheel and sock making machine demonstrations by Subito Farm. Barbara Parry of Foxfire Farm will be signing her book, Adventures in Yarn Farming: Four Seasons on a New England Fiber Farm.
